Prosthetic rehabilitation of a completely edentulous arch might be challenging for both an edentulous patient and a dentist. In case of its irregular residual alveolar ridge and extensive alveolar bone resorption, it is more difficult to obtain adequate support, retention, and stability in the mandible than in the maxilla. In general, an implant-retained overdenture using two implants in the mandibular edentulous anterior region is the known treatment of choice.
However, the patient in this case wanted to have teeth placed as in his previous dentition. Moreover, treatment was limited in terms of using sophisticated attachments because the patient had essential hand tremors. For these reasons, the mandible was restored with an implant-assisted removable partial denture (IARPD) using two solitary implantsupported surveyed crowns as abutments. The maxilla was restored with a conventional complete denture. Despite the presence of poor conditions such as high crown-to-implant ratios and isolated locations, marginal bone levels remained stable during the 16-month follow-up period. Above all, the patient was satisfied with the design features of the IARPD clasp and improved masticatory function. However, continuous follow-up is needed to establish the longterm success of this treatment modality
